Electric Department. Qualified journeymen/women who have successfully completed a recognized electrical line worker program.

The City may under fill the position with a 2nd or 3rd Class Lineman:

· Electric Line Worker – 2nd Class, salary range: $45,718 - $76,33
· Electric Line Worker – 3rd Class, salary range: $39,021 - $65,166

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5+ years experience as a 1st class lineman. Must have extensive knowledge in rubber glove line maintenance and safety procedures, installation and wiring of all types of transformer banks and knowledge of overhead and underground primary and secondary terminations and must live within a 25 mile radius of the City of Manassas. Ability to operate aerial bucket and digger derrick truck. Must be able to work in confined spaces and able to respond to after hour emergency calls, work overtime and participate in the on-call duty schedule. Ability to climb 60 ft. wood poles. Must possess a valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements. Must be able to respond to 70% of after-hour emergency calls and work in inclement weather conditions when required.
