New Optical Scanners and New Precinct Boundaries

New Precinct and Voting Machines

Important news for City of Manassas voters! Existing precinct boundaries have been restructured to accommodate the addition of another precinct (George C. Round Precinct). All City residents will receive a new Voter Registration Letter in the mail which will state their polling location. So keep your eyes peeled for a letter from us because your polling location may have changed!

The City has also purchased new voting machines! Per new Virginia laws we are moving forward with Optical Scanners that will read paper ballots. So get your pens ready for the Primary Election in June and the General Election in November.

If you would like to see the new voting machines in person then swing by one of the Voter Registration Office’s open house dates (starting in March) to learn how these wonderful scanners work! Dates will also be posted on the City’s website. And of course if you run into us at one of the City’s many public events you might get to see the new machines there too!
